PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:
Here we go again, this has to be the third or fourth time that I have had the honor of serving as President of the Binghamton Rifle Club. This one will be a challenge as I am following (See hard copy at club) who did an excellent job in her term of office. Under(See hard copy at club) guidance there has been a great deal of work done around the club and the membership was increased.
(See hard copy at club) is not going far from the main stream of the club. She has agreed to continue to serve in the position of "Quarter Master" and is taking over the editing of the newsletter from (See hard copy at club).
Not to fear, (See hard copy at club) is not going far as he wants to spend more time with the junior team that he lead for the past few years. (See hard copy at club) also does a lot in
handling the job of orientating new members.
(See hard copy at club) and (See hard copy at club), along with a few others, who are listed in this newsletter, are carrying the load of running this club. With a membership base of over ninety people it would be great if we could spread this load out a bit. Come on out to the meetings and donate an hour or two to your club.

Two people are selected by the board members for this position. A person appointed Guardian will not have to pay dues for the year in which they serve- October 02 to October 03. Please contact a Club officer if you are interested in being appointed to this position.

IPA LEAGUE:
September 20th will be the first day of IPA competition. Our Club has 3 teams participating in this year's league. Team Captains are always anxious to sign on new members so if you have any questions on how the league operates or what is involved please contact one of the team captains for more information. A 22 cal rifle weighing no more than 7 ½ pounds with sights is all you need to shoot. Please contact Dour Murray at 862-4523 if interested.
JUNIOR VENTURING:
The Venturing program, formerly known as Explorer Scouts, is open to all young people between 14 and 20 years of age. Their first night when old and new members are asked to attend is September 17th. It's a great way to get young people started on a safe and educated road to gun handling and training. (See hard copy at club) is in charge and welcomes new members and old members back on September 17th. If there are any questions, please contact (See hard copy at club).
